Volunteer registration is open for Heritage Neighborhood Association’s neighborhood clean-up, set for Sat. April 8 from 9 am – noon as part of Keep Austin Beautiful’s citywide Clean Sweep initiative.
Signing up in advance helps KAB allot supplies including t-shirts, gloves, trash and recycling bags, etc. as well as their planning for the Volunteer Appreciation Party afterward, scheduled from 11 am – 1:30 pm at Huston-Tillotson University. The party will have lots of free food, music, door prizes and an Environmental Education Fair.
That said, pre-registration isn’t required — you’re welcome to just join in on the 8th. Meet up at the 31st Street alley entrance between West and Washington Square and we’ll fan out from there. All ages are welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult, and everyone is asked to wear closed-toe shoes.
To register, go to keepaustinbeautiful.org/program/clean-sweep .
Is there an alley or area of Heritage that you’d suggest for clean up? Let us know!
