Come to the Lamar Senior Activity Center 2874 Shoal Crest Ave 78705
August 13, 20 or 27th anytime between 6-8 pm
In this drop in style workshop you will be guided through the process of carving and printing a small relief block with a self portrait or a “swap” portrait of another participant. Attendees will leave with prints of their block on high quality rag paper, but the block will be left with the instructor and will become part of a forthcoming mural on the concrete wall along 30th and Lamar. All supplies provided and it is free to participate although donations are accepted. Most persons will be able to complete their project in two hours or less, but are welcome to attend as many sessions as they desire.
This activity does require manual dexterity and the use of sharp carving tools. All ages are welcome but persons under 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. An ASL interpreter will be present at all sessions. Contact info@flashcollective.com with any questions. For more information on this project go to: www.flashcollective.com
